ABOUT US I first started Line Dancing way back in 1990 at a local Country Music CLub - those were the days when we only knew a handfull of dances.... remember ZIGGY, CALIFORNIA FREEZE...???
Within a few years classes began to appear and I was already avidly collecting new dance sheets.I keenly attended the various festival workshops and was now looking for more challenging routines.
In the Spring of 1997 I took the plunge and enrolled with BWDA to become an Instructor. I trained and qualified in April 1997 under the expert guidance of John Sandam
That Summer, Eric and I set up our first classes - me teaching and Eric as "DJ". We must have made a good job of working together as we later got married in October 1999
Our classes were established in June 1997 and continue to flourish in the Scottish Borders.
I now teach all levels - Beginners & Improvers classes in Selkirk and Hawick, Intermediate classes at Lindean near Selkirk, and Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels. We also host our own Line Dance Saturday Socials at Lindean on a monthly basis (see EVENTS page)for all the details)
My choreography began in the year 2000 during a trip to the USA. During the long flight home I put together a beginner dance to a song I had heard and it was later published in Linedancer Magazine. Since then I have choreographed many more dances, mainly to country music, and most of them have been published in various national (UK) line dance and country music magazines. See Di's Dances page
Some of my better known dances are:
Blue Moon Shuffle, The Woodside Shuffle, Rollin In My Sweet Baby’s Arms, Down Louisiana Way, Old 97, Wake Up Little Susie, I Wish.
With the popularity of YouTube, many of my dances have been video recorded not only by our own club, but also by numerous other Line Dance clubs throughout the world.(see Video Gallery page
In 2006 I was asked to choreograph two dances especially for the “Sons & Daughters of Texas” annual festival in Belgium, and for the Woodside Country Dancers festival in 2007 and again in 2009. I had the pleasure of teaching my dances in Belgium at these festivals.
In the last few years I have taught at a number of weekend events, large and small, for Kingshill Holidays, IOW Tours, and various C/W festivals including Bronco’s Festival, Millport, Belgium and in the Netherlands.
He has an extensive collection of Country and Line Dance CD's, buying the best recommended ones as soon as they're out, so that he can keep up with all the "requests" on our "away" events.

Development of Our Logo Our club logo has developed over the years from the simple banner above with stars, title and the Dancing cowboys.
In 2002 it was designed into
to a more compact circle title incorporating the cowboys and the stars and the all important music aspect "& Country Disco" - we couldn't dance without Eric's seemingly endless supply of all the "right" music.
In the early days we used "iron-on" prints of the new logo on Polo shirts, but in recent years members asked for a club shirt with a bit of quality about it.
With the assistance of a local company, we now have our "Club" Polo Shirts with an embroidered logo.
The polo shirts are good quality cotton/polyester and come in a variety of colours with the embroidery in silver thread on bold colours and dark blue or black thread on pale colours.
.
Polo Shirts may be ordered at a cost of £12.00 each, payment in advance - delivery about three weeks maximum (postage extra).
You can see myself and many of our dancers wearing them in the photos throughout the website.
And, of course, we couldn't forget our Music Man for all our socials and dance events. A "new" Disco front banner was created in 2005, based on the new design.
And updated in 2006
