LINDEAN VILLAGE HALL
In the heart of the Scottish Borders, Lindean is a small village settlement just off the A7 road, approximately halfway between Galashiels and Selkirk.
The map below shows the A7 from Galashiels (top) towards Selkirk (bottom).
Turn off at the sign for Lindean - there's a red telephone box at the junction - up the hill for about twenty five yards or so and the hall is on your left. There's a large carpark to the front and side of the hall. SATNAV - nearest postcode for the hall is TD1 3QW (the houses opposite)
The RED dot on the map is Lindean hall

The hall itself was built in the 1930's and has had several alterations and adaptions since then. The most recent being a NEW REAL WOOD floor as you can see from the photo. It is wood panelled throughout.
The hall is well used by other groups and of course, our Line Dance Classes on Tuesday evenings and monthly Saturday night socials.
Our dance classes and socials can comfortably accommodate up to thirty dancers. Any more than that and it becomes overcrowded. Our class numbers are more often in the 15 to 20 range In this rural area everyone has to travel by car - Galashiels and Selkirk are both about 3 miles away, Hawick is another 15 miles distant (all on the A7). Dancers also come from Innerleithen (14 miles)

Dance Floor Etiquette
We actively encourage all our dancers to observe
"Dance Floor Etiquette". So here is a lighthearted version from "Miss Kitty's Goodtime Honkytonk Bar and Dance Hall"
TOMBSTONE CITY DANCE HALL LAWS

All guns, knives and spurs to be left with the bartender
No ceegarets, whiskey (or wild, wild women) on the dance floor
No chow on the dance floor
Sit a spell if yer wanna have a jaw
Yer welcome at the bar, but perambulate round the perimeter, not through the lines
No fighting over spilled drinks - just tip yer hat and buy that cowpoke another
Them thar pardner dances have priority round the outer edge of the floor
Lets have them cowboys takin' little steps if the floor is full
Ladies, them thar fancy city shoes are fine for a'sittin', but Doc Holliday don't treat broken ankles when he's drunk
It's a jailin' offence in this 'ere city not to smile when yer a'dancin'
