Note: When dancing to “Down Louisiana Way” by George Strait, complete the full dance (steps 1-64) three times .  The song then  has a short 32 count verse starting with the  (wistful) words  “…..don’t let your eyes get misty now…..”  Dance through steps 1-32 then start again at the beginning as the song continues  “….so o o long friend….”    Continue dancing steps 1-64 to end of song.  All other music – dance steps 1-64 throughout

 

Partners begin in “Sweetheart” position, facing line of dance. Same footwork for both.

 

Step, Scuff Right and Left, Slow Coaster, Scuff

1-2-3-4             Firm step forward on Right, Scuff left forward. Step forward on left, scuff right beside left

5-6-7-8            Step back on right. Step left next to right. Step forward on right. Scuff left beside right

 

Grapevine Left, Scuff, Grapevine Right, ¼ Turn Right, Stomp

9-10-11-12        Step left to left side. Cross right behind left  Step left to left side. Scuff right beside left

13-14                Step right to right side. Cross left behind right.

15-16                               Step right to right side making ¼ turn right. Stomp left next to right

(Partners now into “Indian” position, Man behind lady, hands joined over lady’s shoulders facing OLOD)

 

Heel Splits, Toe Splits, ** Rocking Chair

17-18                               Swing both heels out. Swing heels back together.

19-20               Swing both toes out, rocking back on heels.  Swing toes together to floor

21-22-23-24            Rock forward on right, rock back onto left, step back on right, rock forward onto left

 

**VINE ¼R,  Pivot ½ Turn, **Forward, Lock, Forward

(Release Left hands, Man leads lady with Right Hand (25- 28)

25-26               Step right to right side. Cross left behind right

27-28                             Step right to right side making ¼ turn right. (Raise Right hands) Step forward on left

(Man turns under arch( 29)  then rejoin in Sweetheart position by taking arm over lady’s head (30)

29-30                             Pivot ½ turn right.  Step diagonally forward left  on left foot

31-32                              Lock right foot behind left. Step left foot forward

Right Kick x2, Back, Touch, Step, Kick, Cross, Toe Tap

33-34-35-36            Kick right foot forward twice. Step back on right foot. Tap left toe back behind right
